Junebug's second studio album, Modern Day Fairy Tales 18 tracks, $10   Modern Day Fairy Tales is Minneapolis-based Junebug’s follow up to their 2008 debut album, Share, and is mostly made up of older material from Junebug's "way-back" catalog. The songs were written by younger men in simpler times and reflect a light-hearted, humorous and care-free period in the life of the group. The band decided it would be a shame if these old songs were lost to the ages, so they revived them, breathed new life into them and recorded them with the hope that their audience would get to know Junebug just a little bit better. Modern Day Fairy Tales was recorded in February 2010 at Fur Seal studio in Minneapolis with engineer and mixer Joe Johnson, who has worked with such artists as The Bad Plus’s Dave King and premier drummers Peter Erskine and Michael Bland. The album was released independently by Junebug in July 2010. |

Junebug's debut studio album, Share
12 tracks, 52:24,   Drawing on many influences from numerous genres including psychedelic, funk, grunge, classic rock, reggae and even country, Junebug fuses together the best of all worlds to create a sound that is uniquely their own. The lyrical hooks, funky rhythms and rock 'n' roll licks have caused countless crowds to get up and boogie.   "I enjoyed the Junebug CD. Great late '60s early '70s vibe with a hint of Sgt. Peppers thrown in, too." -- Cliff Goldmacher, writer for EQ and Mix magazines   "Junebug...show off their chemistry and knack for making happy haphazard hits sound cohesive on their self released debut album, Share." -- Ryan Monk, BandSoup.com   "The album has a simple but loveable feel, tracks like "Chosen Ones" and "Place" elevate it to some sort of higher plateau that is reserved for… well, for the good albums I suppose... You’re getting a lot of bang for your buck with 'Share.'" -- David Couch, The Justin Wayne Show Blog   "Whether you are looking for love songs, songs to remind you about the good old days, songs to chill to,...this is it, the best 52 minutes of your day...I had to listen all the way through and then go back again right away." -- Dan Christensen, listener   "At once, this album delivers on every level. The songs are catchy, cleverly written and easy to sing along with in the car. The fast songs are fun and danceable, the slow songs paint fantastic visual portraits. Can't wait to see what they put out next!" --Rory Behrens, listener |
